At the beginning of 2014, I was sitting quietly on the couch at home when my husband read that the sixteen largest sea container ships are as polluting as all the cars in the world combined. I was surprised. When he told me that 27 million more trees disappear every day than are added, while trees remove CO2 from the air, I was shocked. He had delved into it and as he continued to talk, my image shifted. I thought we were doing quite well in the Netherlands, but outside our field of view there is much more going on.

The decision was made in a split second: I'm going to do something about this! The seed for 'The Hidden Impact' was planted.

This book provides insight into our impact on the planet. That impact largely takes place out of our sight and it is bigger than we think.
