This water saver is mounted on the float in your cistern. As soon as you release the flush button while flushing, the water flow immediately stops through the water stop. So you never flush more water down your toilet than necessary.

Edit:
Carefully lift the cover of your cistern. Place the water stop in the overflow pipe. Make sure that the suspension of the water stop is on the edge of the overflow pipe. This ensures that the water stop works optimally. Now that the water stop is mounted, the water flow will stop immediately when you release the flush button.
