Terre de Sommières, also called Soap of Fez 'Fullersearth' or Fullersearth, is a clay with an extra fine lamellar structure. Absorbent and Neutralizing: it can also be used to absorb and neutralize urine stains on carpets or pillows, wine stains from tablecloths,...
To be used as a hand cleaner - Hands of tinkerers and mechanics and car mechanics
The Terre de Sommières was discovered at the beginning of the 19th century in the village of Sommières, near Montpellier. Today it is collected in Morocco, where it is known as Soap of Fez.

The principle and basis is: sprinkle liberally the surface to be treated without rubbing. Leave on for several hours, 2-3 hours minimum, a little more if the stain is old. Then rub, delicately dip and then blow to remove the powder. The stain is gone.

For fabrics: After dusting and waiting for the powder to dry completely, brush the garment or fabric. This works very well for: grease stains on leather boots, buckskin, make-up on a leather bag, stains on clothing (wine, sweet drinks...), urine stains...

Oil stains on parquet: First remove the excess grease from the oil with an absorbent paper or tissue paper. Then sprinkle the Terre de Sommières generously on the stain, without rubbing, and let it work for a minimum of 2 to 3 hours. Then, gently rub the powder when it has soaked into the stain. Bladder. If the stain remains, repeat this process again.

Shoe polish stain on oiled furniture/parquet: Take a clean and soft cloth, impregnate it with a little turpentine essence and Terre de Sommières. Then lightly press the smear stain on your furniture/parquet. Leave on for half a day. Then blow and reapply the coat of paint for protection/boosting.

Candle stains: First try to delicately loosen the wax from the candle with a wooden spatula. If any wax remains, place an absorbent paper/blotting paper over the stain and hold a warm iron over the stain to remelt the wax. Then sprinkle with Terre de Sommières. Wait overnight, scrub the loosened remains the next day and blow clean.

For old stains: If the stain is old, warm it with a hairdryer or a hot iron before sprinkling with Terre de Sommières. The older the stain, the more often you will need to repeat this process with Terre de Sommières until the stain is gone.

Oil or grease stains on granite or marble or stains from oil paint: First sprinkle the grease stain with Terre de Sommières. Leave on for 2 to 3 hours (read: half a day). Remove the powder using a vacuum cleaner or a brush. If the stain is stubborn, it is possible to make a paste by mixing the earth with the essence of turpentine. Combine both ingredients so that the mixture is paste-like and can penetrate the pores of the stone. Apply the paste using tweezers and leave for 12 to 24 hours.

For hobbyists and mechanics: After working on the engine of your car or motorcycle, your hands are often dirty, but how do you get rid of that? Clayey soil such as Terre de Sommières, combined with water are very effective for this! Add water to the Terre de Sommières until you get a paste, then rub both hands. The mixture will wash your hands perfectly.
