Kubb is a game also known as Viking chess. Kubb means wooden block in the Gotland dialect of Sweden. It has been around since the 1990s and is still being played for many years. Did you know that there are even championships in the Netherlands? The first was in 2004 and was won by the Helicopters.

What should you do
A field is made with four corner sticks. Then each team has five kubbs that they place at their feet. The king is in the very center of the field.

One team must knock over the other team's cubes. Punches are only allowed if the bar-shaped throwing stick touches the kubb with its tip. The team has six throwing sticks per turn. You may use the kubbs you knocked over on that turn as a line of defense for your own kubbs. The other team must first knock over your defense line before they can start your other kubbs.

When all the opposing team's kubbs are gone, the king must still be hit. The game is not over until the king is knocked over.
