The big advantage but also the disadvantage of our water is the price. The price of our tap water is relatively low. From a purely financial point of view, saving water therefore yields little benefit. However, the most important reason to save on water is to save on energy. A lot of energy is required to purify water. The cleaning process of water is a complicated and lengthy process. Also consider the energy used by the pumps that ensure there is pressure on the water pipes. In addition, water purification burdens the environment through the use of additives and chemicals and all kinds of filter materials. Pumping groundwater causes desiccation of nature within the water extraction areas.

Cleaning our water is becoming increasingly complicated due to fertilization and substances from the chemical industry (cleaning products and medicines). If the quality of our drinking water continues to decline due to contamination, water companies will be forced to add chlorine to our tap water. Something I really don't think we should want. It is expected that clean drinking water will become scarcer and more expensive in the future. Every reason to use our water consciously and sustainably.
