These menstrual pads are a reusable alternative to tampons. Just like a tampon, a menstrual sponge means that you can continue to do what you feel like during your period. A visit to the sauna or gym is therefore no problem, and an evening of dancing is also possible without any worries.
Today there are many different hygiene products for the menstrual period of women. That is why we list the benefits of the menstrual sponge for you:
  • The menstrual sponges are ergonomic and mold to your body so that you will not leak.
  • They are reusable. You can easily rinse them out and they can also be put in the washing machine. With three pieces in the package, you can alternate enough.
  • Because there is no string, it is completely invisible, even if you go swimming for a day and walk around in a bikini.
Insertion:
  • Before insertion, wash your hands and rinse them thoroughly. Make sure no soap residue is left behind. Remove the sponge from the packaging. When the sponge is dry, you can put some water or neutral lubricant (water-based) on it. This makes the sponge easier to insert. Squeeze the sponge, otherwise the sponge is already 'full'.
  • Take the sponge between your thumb and index finger and press it together. If the sponge has a concave and a convex side, keep the concave side up. This side touches the cervix.
  • With your free hand, hold your labia open and insert the sponge. Use your index finger to push the sponge into the back of the vagina and make sure the sponge fits snugly on the cervix.
  • Insertion is easiest when you stand and place one leg higher. For example, on a chair.
  • How often you need to change the sponge depends on your period. Never leave a sponge on for more than four hours (this can cause infections!) and preferably change it after every sexual contact.

Remove:
  • Wash your hands carefully before removing.
  • Take a relaxed position, squatting is often the easiest.
  • With your thumb and forefinger you can now grasp the sponge and pull it out of the sheath. If this fails, you can squeeze lightly to push the sponge out. If you are unable to remove the sponge, consult a doctor.
  • Always check that the previous (or last) sponge has been removed, including before going to sleep. Do not throw a used sponge in the toilet, this can lead to blockages.
