LoofCo dishwashing sponges are expertly handcrafted in Egypt at the loofa factory. A 100% biodegradable alternative to plastic dishwashing sponges. The Washing-Up Loofah Pad fits neatly in the hand and when submerged in water swells into a soft, spongy and flexible pad.

Abrasives when the sponge is dry. It's soft enough for nonstick pans and smooth enough to fit into cups. The pad lasts for months and can be composted when worn. Each pad has a handy cotton hanging loop. Flattened for transport to save space.
How to use
  • Use in warm water with detergent, such as a dishwashing sponge.
  • To keep the loofah fresh between uses, squeeze out the excess water, shake out any food particles and hang the pad to dry on the cotton loop.
  • Wash occasionally in the washing machine or by hand for more frequent use.

Our mission is to provide an alternative to mass production of plastic such as dishwashing brushes, scouring cloths, sponges and other household products that are not biodegradable or made from recycled plastic. LoofCo agricultural practices are sustainable and meet the highest environmental standards. Coconut and Loofah are both renewable raw materials that absorb CO2 as they grow. Furthermore, we use coconut fibers and husks left over from feed and coconut oil production that would otherwise be wasted or burned.

All elements of LoofCo products are 100% compostable and biodegradable, except the metal core of the brushes which can be recycled. Our cardboard packaging is also recyclable.
